    With India's vast coastline and inland water bodies, the sector offers significant oportunities for economic development. CICEF is dedicated to harnessing these through modern, eco-friendly engineering solutions and smart fishing harbours that enhance fish production and livelihoods.

    We collaborate closely with the Ministry of Fisheries, State Governments and stakeholders to implement innovative, sustainable and high-impact projects. Our goal is to strengthen India's fisheries infrastructure and support the Blue Economy

The Central Institute of Coastal Engineering for Fishery (CICEF) is a premier institution under the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Government of India. Since its inception, CICEF has been at the forefront of planning, designing, and developing fishery harbours, fish landing centres, and coastal aquaculture farms across the country.

Our Mission

CICEF is dedicated to promoting sustainable and efficient fishery infrastructure development, supporting the growth of India's blue economy. Through scientific site selection, pre-feasibility studies, and engineering investigations, we provide innovative solutions for the fisheries sector, ensuring better livelihoods for fishing communities and contributing to national food security.
