    Welcome to the Central Institute of Coastal Engineering for Fishery (CICEF). Since its inception, CICEF has played a key role in developing fisheries infrastructure across India, contributing to the sustainable growth of the fisheries sector

    With India's vast coastline and inland water bodies, the sector offers significant oportunities for economic development. CICEF is dedicated to harnessing these through modern, eco-friendly engineering solutions and smart fishing harbours that enhance fish production and livelihoods.

    We collaborate closely with the Ministry of Fisheries, State Governments and stakeholders to implement innovative, sustainable and high-impact projects. Our goal is to strengthen India's fisheries infrastructure and support the Blue Economy

The particulars of any arrangement that exists for consultation with, or representation by the members of the public in relation to formulation of its policy or implementation thereof:

The selection of site for development of fishery harbours/fish landing centre are done in consultation with the respective State Fisheries Department and user Agencies. Thereafter detailed engineering and economic investigations are carried out and project report prepared in consultation with the Fisheries Department and user Agency. The project report is submitted to Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India for consideration of sanction under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme.
